Reviews from Stag and Dagger

Our favourite new bands - GQ Music - GQ.COM (UK)

'
Let fate have her say

It's easy to get wrapped up in schedules and stage-times but trying to control everything can also cause you to miss out on unearthing those uncut diamonds. Sunderbans were one such band, the earnest three-piece recalling the likes of (early) Maximo Park with their energy and guitar hooks. And they would've been bypassed had it not been for the persistent nagging of one ardent follower in our midst and our late-running to another further-flung venue. '

Stag & Dagger 2010 Review - ilikemusic.com

'8.00 Catch - Sunderbans

We get the evening started with personal favourites Sunderbans, who are playing at Catch, the venue overseen by the ever-reliable record label Young And Lost Club. Exchanging a quick couple of words with the guys beforehand, they express a little disappointment at playing so early in the evening, and understandably so. This disappointment isn't allowed to impact upon the performance though, and the small crowd are treated to a characteristically energetic set. The musically sparse yet melodically rich songs are played with captivating ferocity, and those dedicated enough to turn up early are fully rewarded.'

Thanks for everyone who came down and to
Victor Talking Machine and She Said Resist for having us play. Throughly enjoyed both of their sets.

It was a great night! x
